N.D.A.S. Network Design, Administration and Security

Network Administrators are increasingly in demand as more companies become computer-savvy. Local and wide-area networks require constant supervision and updates to both hardware and software.

The NDAS program at Interface College covers Microsoft, Cisco and Linux networking technologies with an added focus on security.

The goal of the NDAS program is to prepare students to take the following certification exams:

  • Windows Server 2008 Active Directory Configuration
  • Windows Server 2008 Server Administrator
  • Window Server 2008 Networking Infrastructure Configuration
  • CompTIA Network+
  • CompTIA Linux+
  • CompTIA Securtiy+
  • Cisco CCNA (Single Exam version)

Graduates of this program will have a variety of business/technical career paths open to them, such as: Network Administrator, Network Support Specialist, Help Desk Analyst, Information Technology Specialist and Computer and Network Security Support.

 

First Semester

Students in this semester will learn to install and configure server and client machines for networks using Windows 2008 Server in preparation for the MCTS and MCITP exams.

  • Managing a Windows 2008 Server in a small to medium sized LAN.

Students will install and configure Linux servers, delve into security issues and configure Cisco networking equipment.
