O.A. Computer Applications and Office Administration

The OA program is the launching pad toward a successful career in a variety of business and office positions such as software applications specialist, bookkeeper, office administrator, secretary and office/clarical positions.

These types of positions are constantly in demand and serve as that first critical step up the ladder to long-term success in an office or business environment.

 

First Semester

The first semester prepares students to take Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) certification exams in Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint; and gives them a solid understanding of computers, software applications, and the Windows operating system. Other topics include: customer service, keyboarding and career planning.

Second Semester

In this semester students advance into more specialized subjects such as desktop publishing and computerized accounting. Career planning and keyboarding skills are continued into the second semester. This semester prepares students to take the National Registered Bookkeeper (NRB) certification exam.
