Health Information Management

Health Information Management Training Programs

The health care industry in Spokane County represents over 20% of our economy and one out of every five jobs; it is also the largest single industry in the United States. The Health Information Management (HIM) training programs at Interface College are helping meet the need of this high demand employment sector.

Working in the health care field can also be rewarding work, helping people and making a real difference. Upon successful completion of one of the school's two HIM programs graduates will be prepared for a professional career in the medical and health care office positions using the latest computer and information technology tools.

Interface College is currently offering the following two medical programs:
Computer Applications and Medical Office Administration (MOA)

This program prepares graduates for entry level positions in health care office settings - such as: medical office assistant, medical coder, medical office computer specialist, receptionist, and other support positions in medical offices, hospitals and other health care organizations. This program also prepares students to take Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) certification exams in Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint; and the Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA) exam for the National Healthcare Association (NHA).
